That's it, He Can't Go

Spud starts school next Tuesday. I DID NOT think I woud be as emotional about this as I am. I thought it wouldl just be a celebration ofo the big boy he's become. But this past week I've turned into a weepy mess whenever I think about that baby being gone every day.

Then the following conversation occured today after a big tickle fest.

HG: I love you buddy. I'm sure gonna miss you when you go to school.

Spud: Oh, don't worry mommy, I will always come back to you.

I may stop crying sometime in October.

Melt me now! What a sweetheart.

But i wouldn't get too mellow if I were you, I'm sure that Sprout is planning his takeover of the free space that Spud's schooling will allow for!

I'm with you. My kids have been in school for two weeks (for the first time since home schooling) and I feel like a basketcase. I've never cried so much.

For real.

It is SO bittersweet. I've done it three times now, and can I just warn you that it's the same every year. Suddenly they are in Grade THREE??? (or whichever grade it is.) you can't imagine that they are old enough for the added work and responsibility of that age. And you still miss them!!

However... My last is yet to go to school, and when he does, I am fairly sure that will be the end of me. My baby....
