Is Anyone There?

Hello.

Hello?

Is this thing on?

You should see the re-darndiculous number of posts started and not finished in the last few weeks.  CRAZY.

Much like the weather of late.  It is currently -19 but he windchill makes it feel like -35.  Which I must say is darn cold.  Especially when the boys were playing in the park in shirt sleeves two weeks ago.
So I'd like to blame my lack of postings on the cold weather.

Or maybe I could blame it on my cookie. I'm still eating my COOKIE.

Whatever.

However, I feel I owe you all something.

So, here is actual conversation with a young son who shall remain nameless.  (Because it won't take you long to figure it out.)

"Buddy, it's really cold out today.  You need to wear a long sleeve shirt.  Not short sleeves, but long sleeves."  As I am saying this, I am touching his arms to indicate where the sleeve should end.

"What kind of a shirt should you wear today bud?"

"Long sleeved."

"Good job.  Get going."

Any guesses as to what he showed up in 3 minutes later?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Hint.  My head popped right off my shoulders.

And now I need to go get a cookie.

*The dude in the video is the head of Health Services in Alberta.  For now.

I had not actually seen the video in question until now. I think it was both parties' faults. The media would drive me NUTS in any situation, but particularly in that one. That being said, I think he could have handled the entire thing a whole lot better and his arrogance shone through.

Wow, he really made himself look like a fool. I agree with Janet, the media would drive me nuts, but his lack of professionalism is disturbing. No wonder the health care profession hates the Cookie Monster.

Stop walking, turn to camera and say, "I will not be issuing a statement now. Please reserve all your questions for the media scrum scheduled in 30 minutes. Thank you." And then do NOT say anything else. IS THAT SO HARD, Mr. Duckett?!

When the first reporter asked him for a comment, & he turned and held the cookie up right in her face?! That made me so mad. He should at least apologize for that gesture it was v. aggressive.

As for you son, I was just reading that absent mindedness is at its worse between ages 6 & 9 & is developmentally appropriate. I take some solace in this and hope you can too.

I AM ONLY INTERESTED IN EATING MY COOKIE. I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS. DO YOU NOT SEE I AM EATING MY COOKIE? I AM STILL EATING MY COOKIE!

AHS is totally screwed, given the leadership.

Yummy in my tummy! I love cookies...

now that our Mr. Duckett is not employed with ABS, maybe he could join Cookie Monster in his campaign to make cookies enjoyable for all!

Not a cookie related post.... my son wore sandals (w/ 2 pairs of soccer socks) yesterday to zoolights at the zoo. And it snowed. a lot. Ugh. I guess I'm going to give in and buy him some boots since he won't wear his new tennis shoes...

Over a month without a new post from HG. Sigh. It's a good thing I know you in real life, otherwise I'd be missing you!
