You say Potato, I say ARGGG

Before I get into the meat (and potatoes) of this post, does anyone have problems adding me to their google reader?
How about Bloglines?
Inquiring minds need to know.  Thanks.

Remember the bag of potatoes?

All 20 pounds of them?

Now for many households this would not really seem like a big deal but we don't eat a lot of potatoes here.  We're rice men. (20 points if you guess where that is from).

So, I began to think of ways to use up the cursed potatoes and had the following conversation:

HG:  You don't like Shepard's pie do you?

WC:  Nope.

HG:  Chicken pot pie?

WC: No pies involving meat.  Please.

HG:  Haven't changed your stance on scalloped potatoes, potato salad or  corn chowder recently eh?

WC:  Nope.

HG:  Hey , I know, do you like potato pancakes?

WC:  What?  No.  No.  No.

HG:  Boiled?

WC:  Are you trying to kill me?

Before you start offering suggestions, any soup with potatoes, shipwreck and potato skins are all in the no-fly zone.

So, seriously, if you live near me, I am giving away potatoes.  For free.  Just come take them before I start chucking them at the happy shopper.

Please.

Have you thought about using potatoes as stamps for your kids? I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it done. Or maybe you could make real life Mr Potato Heads with the boys. Or maybe you could borrow a certain person's potato gun...

But if you add an e to the end of the word, then it becomes potatoe. And THAT is a whole different food.

Seriously though, I'm not commenting much these days, but I did want you to know I've had no problems with you in Google Reader.

I'm a rice person too. I LOOOOVE rice.

I have definitely been having problems with Google reader. Weird stuff, like people's blogs have 200 posts or something. Hmmmm.....

Potatoes are my FAVORITE food. All that stuff you said sounds good to me. I have no idea where you live, but if you decide to throw them out your back window, if they fly as far as Minnesota, maybe I'll catch some. :)

Yes! Whenever I try to put you in, I get a blog called Mommy Knows. I don't get your blog. Is that the problem others are having?

I know!! I know!! "We're rice men" comes from Sleepless in Seatle. One of my favourite movies!!

As for the uses of potatos - we don't eat many either. No idea...I think they are just bad bad bad carbs...and are therefore out of bounds.

Hey, you could get together with momofthecrazies and get the kids to use those potatoes to stamp paper and make your own Christmas wrapping paper. Or, you've probably seen those veggie/fruit books where they make food look like 'characters'. You could make your own Potatoe Wars. You probably have enough potatoes to create a series.

You sound like my daughter. Though she does like french fries and potato chips. But no mashed, baked, boiled, salad, soup, or anything else. Just fries and chips.

Well...at least you don't have to write off all vegetables. ;)

I don't know about the google reader or bloglines, but as you know... your feed doesn't show up on my sidebar like the other blogs I have listed to the right. It is their feed and the title of their most recent post. When I tried to add you it said no feed was detected.
