What's Up, Doc Edition.

I totally stole this off of Janet's blog. Which I feel entitled to, being an invalid and all.

Joining... The human race. After three weeks of recovering I am itching to get back to cleaning, cooking, and playing with my kids.

Sitting... and sitting and sitting some more. There's been more sitting in the past three weeks than in the past six years.

Reading... Some really bad books. I have been having a string of bad luck picking them. Any suggestions? I'm not rally looking for deep at this point in my life, just a plot, some well developed characters and no moralizing. Is this too much to ask?

Drinking... Lots and lots of ginger ale.

Wondering... Why TV is such a vast wasteland.

Planning... To never let some snake oil salesman cut me open ever again.

Enjoying... Being mobile and semi-pain free. Also REALLY enjoying the sunshine and the fact that there is no more snow in the forecast!

Learning.. more about narcotics, drug interactions, and pain relief than I ever thought possible.

Passing... This on to you!

Are you into mysteries at all? I'm a huge fan of Laurie R King's Mary Russell series. For simple, amusing country vignettes, I always go to Miss Read's books, either the Fairacre or the Thrush Green series.

Other than that, I haven't got much for suggestions. I keep finding lousy books, too, and then I'm forced to go back to my shelves and re-read old favorites for the millionth time.

I am very glad you have no more snow in the forecast. I have always thought I would like to be Canadian, but snow in June makes me think otherwise. We had snow on Mother's Day, and that was enough for me!

Hooray! Glad you are on the recovery train. This morning was the school's Stampede breakfast and it was SO great to see the sun. And no more snow/rain, I swear it snowed a little yesterday morning at drop-off.

I just read Water for Elephants, which I'm sure everyone in the world has already read, but it was pretty good. So there's my recommendation.

Not sure if you're into history, but I just read "The Search for God and Guinness". I loved it. It's not what I would typically read, butI found it to be interesting and inspiring (kind of surprising for a book about beer!). As for TV there really is nothing on, but my Husband sure likes "Billy the Exterminator"... if you have any sort of appreciation for red necks maybe you'd get a kick out of it too.

'Still Alice'. Great read, everyone should read it! Easy to get through and makes you stop and think a little!! Love you.
